When opening an account with Exo, we are legally obliged by the UK government to carry out a number of checks to verify your identity and bank information.

A Know-Your-Customer (KYC) check confirms your identity by cross-referencing your details against a range of verified databases and combining it with a document check so as to ensure you are who you say you are.

An Anti-Money-Laundering (AML) check similarly confirms your identity and also ensures that we comply with anti-money-laundering guidelines.

In order to complete these verifications, you might be required to provide:

  • A proof of identity (i.e. passport, EU/EEA national identity card or driving licence);

  • A bank statement that is less than 3 months.

Please note that we do not perform credit checks.
